How you will contribute:
Duties of this position include making weekly route deliveries and pick-ups of materials and equipment utilizing a 26’ box truck with a liftgate. As a team member with the Central Delivery Operation, this specific driver position will be based out of our Sheet Metal Shop. Additional responsibilities may include material handling, staging, and loading items for delivery. This position may support the team with an occasional jobsite delivery as needed and as the schedule permits. The role is a full-time position and with varied start times based on the day of the week, though the route is structured to remain consistent from week to week.
What you need to qualify:
Ideal candidate will have experience operating Medium Duty (Class 4 – 6) Commercial Motor Vehicles. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card. Valid CDL Class A is a plus. Employees must have a clean driving record, no major moving violations, including drug or alcohol offenses. Familiarity with electronic Hours of Service logging applications is a plus. Applicants must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and must meet required norms on aptitude tests. OSHA 30-hour preferred; company will train as needed. You can stand out above other candidates by demonstrating comfort with mobile device technology, thriving in a fast-paced work environment, displaying basic mechanical skills, and having good problem-solving skills. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 75 pounds, stand, bend and crouch throughout their shift. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. A commitment to acquiring industry specific knowledge and displaying a positive attitude will be crucial. Safety regulations must be followed at all times, including the use of hearing, eye, hand, knee and foot safety equipment. If you are ready to demonstrate this expertise, Ahern wants you!
